(Trumps (Distelfink)/Waimeha Bago (Winnebago)

Detailed is a 2003, 17.2hh warmblood with the fuzziest nature combined with excellent power, scope and technique! Talent, nature, breeding and size make Clyde one to watch for the not to distant future. Clyde's dam-sire, Bago, jumped at the 1988 Seoul Olympics with Mark Todd, finishing in 26th place, whilst his Hanovarian grand-sire, Distelfink, was the sire of many top showjumpers including Duty Free and Supermoth (John Cottle). 

Clyde was bred by Opotiki based, Erin Clark, and a lot of his beautiful nature is a tribute to her. Sophie purchased Clyde in December 2008 and there are high hopes for the duo. This horse just oozes "look at me" presence and he certainly has a nationwide fan-base!

In the 2009-2010 season Clyde jumped in Mitavite 6 year old series (1.20m-1.30m), Junior Riders (1.20m-1.30m) and 1.35m classes easily, including a 6th in the Mitavite North Island 6yo Championship class at Dannevirke in 2010, 3rd in the National Junior Rider Championship, 2nd in the South Island 6yo final, 6th in the South Island Junior Rider Final, 1st in the Carterton Junior Rider Championship and 4th in the Canterbury 6yo series.

In the 2010-2011 season Clyde stepped up to the Cushionride 7 year old and Young Rider series very well finishing with many consistent placings, including placing 5th in his first 3*** Young Rider (1.35m-1.45m) start. He also finished well, just outside the placings, in the very solid and technical Young Rider of the Year class, with me being the youngest rider and him the youngest horse in the event.

Clyde is currently jumping to 3*** Young Rider (1.45m) and 1* Horse Grand Prix (1.45m) level.

LR Ruegar 

(Ramirez/Latus (Landgraf)/Wahnfried)

Ruegar is a 2000, solid 17hh, holsteiner gelding with a friendly nature, enormous power and international blue blood on both sides of his pedigree. He is out of the holsteiner mare, Latta, who jumped to A-grade level in Germany prior to her import. Latta is by Latus (Landgraf/Folia (Folia is also the dam of Latus II, Capitol I, Capitol II, U-Capitola and Callebrio)) out of Krokus (Wahnfried (Wahnfried is also the grandsire of Sandro). Latus, was sold by Thormuhlen at a young age and ended up with Paul Schockemohle and Franke Sloothaak. His fabulous technique earned him a second in the five year old Bundeschampionat. Latus I spent a breeding season at Zangersheide and produced international jumping stallions Lauriston and Lasangos. Ru also has a double cross of the great Ramzes through Ramirez's grandsire, Raimond, and Folia's dam, Vase. Latta is also the dam of Grand Prix showjumpers Corteeza (Collins (Au)) and Remington (Ramirez). Ru was bred by Lisa and Russell Smith and brought on and competed lightly by Diana Clune of Hampton Downs.

Ru made an excellent start to his showjumping career in the 2009-2010 season, jumping hugely scopey clears up to 1.25m level, gaining himself a band of admirers! He also started in his first Junior Riders picking up placings.

Ru stepped up to Toyota Young Rider classes for the 2010-2011 season and finished a creditable 6th, double clear, in his first YR start. 

He is currently jumping to 2** Young Rider level (1.40m). Ready for 1* Horse Grand Prix (1.45m).

Gradina 

(Garth (Grannus II)/Falkrich/Fremder/Fierabras XX)

Gradina is a 2002, 16.2hh holsteiner/hanovarian mare with an excellent mix of dressage and jumping blood through Grannus in her sire line and Falkrich/Fremder in her dam line. She has a lovely laid back, sweet nature and is a pleasure to do anything with. She has been freejumped and showed huge scope and effortlessness, lovely and light behind! She is not the easiest ride with a hot mind and way of going but she has the sweetest, obliging nature and is very careful.

Fancy has just began her competition debut in the 2009-2010 season, jumping double clears in the smaller training classes, not long after learning to jump. During the 2009-2010 season I kept her really low in heights - this is the sort of horse that needs the time, and with her talent it should be worth it, she's definitely starting to turn a few heads.

She is currently jumping to 1.15m.

Ariadne II

Tilly is a 2001, 15.3hh mare with a tidy jump and an excellent brain; always actively trying her hardest to help and work with her rider. She takes a while to build up trust in the paddock but once you've got her on your side she's your best mate. This mare has no special breeding and she's not big but she's built tough with a big heart.

Tilly has been out of work for many years and will be starting off jumping some smaller classes early this year before possibly aiming at some junior rider series classes later on in the season.

Astek Gymkala 

(Gymnastic Star/Winterkoenig/Daktylus/Goldstern)

Gymkala is a 2004, 16.0hh hanovarian mare with a willing and inquisitive nature. She is a very fast learning mare with great natural beauty and a strong but agile physique. She possesses the captivating personality, refined face and elegant movement, true to her sire, Gymnastic Star. Gymkala has a superb hunter type technique and way of going, very tidy over a fence with a nice bascule. Bred by Sue Fowler at Astek Stud in Christchurch and owned by Claire and George Houry.

Gymkala is by the Hanovarian premium class one stallion, Gymnastic Star, who has produced many jumping and dressage foals throughout Australia and New Zealand. This crossed over the blood of Winterkoenig, whose dam-sire, Pik Koenig, produced many great jumpers as well as the dressage stallions Pik Bube I and II and the jumping blood of Daktylus and Gotthard has produced an athletic and all around sporting mare.

Gymkala will be out later this season jumping some smaller classes.

Astek Danzing 

(Damontez LS/Gymnastic Star/Silky Baby XX/Zephyr Zing XX)

Danny is a 2006, 16.1hh hanovarian gelding with an extremely outgoing (can be known to be just a bit mischievous!), laid-back and friendly disposition, bred by Sue Fowler at Astek Stud in Christchurch and purchased by us as a yearling in 2007. Although not big he has a very athletic, sporty body with a good amount of bone and a lovely loose back. 

Danny has a double cross of the Hanovarian stallion, Distelfink, through his sire, Damontez LS. Distelfink is till rated as New Zealand's top jumper producer with many of his progeny being successful Grand Prix mounts, for example: Super Moth (John Cottle), Duty Free (Maurice Beatson), Dealer LS (Anna Stephen), Falcon (Maurice Beatson), Sky Lark (Katie McVean), Diomedes LS (Phillip Steiner), Hugo, Mr Magic, Blondini, Daylight LS (Phillip Steiner), Sam I Am LS (John Cottle) and many more. Danny's dam, Kinnordy Ghislane, was imported from Australia by Sue Fowler of Astek stud and competed very successfully in Young Horse Dressage at the Horse of the Year show before being retired to the broodmare paddock. Crossed with the athletic mix of the scopey Gymnastic Star and the thoroughbred super-sire, Silky Baby, Danny should be an exciting youngster for the not too distant future.

Danny is jumping in smaller training classes.

Emilio

(Emilion VDL/Voltaire II/In the Purple XX/Old Soldier XX)

Elmo is a 2006, 16.0hh dutch warmblood/KWPN gelding with an excellent mix of imported european bloodlines crossed over performance thoroughbreds in his distant pedigree. With a very compact, flexible body, natural balance and an explosive, sensitive and inquisitive nature Elmo should become an incredible speed horse as well as having enough jump for some of the larger tracks. Bred by Suzy McMenamin in Cambridge and purchased by us as a 2yo in 2009. Elmo is by VDL stud verband superstar and world cup showjumper, Emilion, who carries the valuable bloodlines of Nimmerdor (awarded stallion of the century), Lucky Boy, Farnese and the two famous thoroughbred jumping sires, Ladykiller XX and Cottage Son XX. This crossed with the versatility of his dam-sire, Voltaire II (standing at Astek Stud in Christchurch), who carries the bloodlines of Voltaire and again of Nimmerdor, and the famous New Zealand thoroughbred, In The Purple, has provided a very light, clever and scopey mix. Elmo's dam, Vibrant SL, showjumped up to 1.40m level before being retired to the broodmare paddock.

Elmo is in basic training in preparation for making his showjumping debut this season.
