Maverick Sporthorses is surrounded by thousands of acres of coastal farmland and picturesque shingle bays. This allows for no shortage of land to hack the horses out and provide the youngsters with plenty of challenges and experiences.

Maverick Sporthorses has a grass arena and access to a full size dressage arena right on the coastal cliffs, with stunning views out to the open sea.

There are also covered yards for tacking up during the day and a large tack room, equipped with bunk-beds.

Being located in Northland there is also plenty of access to stunning, sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see, for the horses to have a change of scenery.

Adjistment / Horse Training

Maverick Sporthorses provides adjistment that includes with good quality grass that doesn't make horses founder or stagger, twice daily check overs, supplementary hay, hard-feed and worming (horses are wormed on arrival). All of the horses on the property are covered, and unlike many horse operations, these are all changed accordingly to the weather conditions.  The horses are kept individually in large paddocks which are well kept with all weeds removed and are harrowed in between use.

Shoeing and any vet/dentist costs are extra to the flat adjistment fee.

There is a grass arena on which the horses do the majority of their schooling and 10,000+ acres of hilly and flat stunning, coastal farmland, where the horses can hack out. There is also access to a full size dressage arena, right on the stunning coastline, and we occasionally travel the horses to Tokerau beach and other northern beaches, for a change of scenery.

The horses are ridden a minimum of 5 days per week and this includes lunging, etc. However each horse has its own program specifically structured according to its age, physical strength and ability to learn.

I am a believer of not pushing horses too fast and my motto is to take the time to gain time.

Clipping, etc. is also available.
